An archetype is a character type or phenomenon that is notably recurrent across the human experience.
Though interpretations vary, we can usually establish 12 archetypes divided into 4 groups based on their main motivation.
I often wonder what it would be like if queerness had been an openly celebrated and widely visible part of ancient Western societies, what kinds of myths might have been born?
In this small speculative illustrated project, I reimagine and visualise those untold myths as if I had stumbled upon mysterious ancient artefacts. They hint at queerness made divine, yet remain partly veiled, their full meaning just out of reach.

Recent atrocities, like the villainisation of drag performers, anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation and the increasing number of incidents of violence targeting queer people, highlight the urgent need for collective action and spaces for dialogue, planning, and organisation.
Like we've done so many times before, we must shape and mould ourselves into communities capable of not only surviving this reality, but also pushing back. Let this be a reminder that our fight is a continuous effort that demands our unwavering commitment.
